Short re-cap of my day today:

  • woke up next to my lover

  • whole foods - got some sangria and snacks
  • wined and dined at picchetti ranch with the lover and chris
  • hiked the zinfandel trail - marveled at beautiful views and wildlife! i regret not bringing a camera
  • work, chasin’ that paper
  • desperately looking for apartments/room/place to stay and PRINCE tickets for this saturday 5/21

A song like this cannot be fabricated. This is true, honest, and morbidly beautiful. Very inspirational.

“De-loused in the Comatorium” is entirely based on the life and death of a former friend of the band Julio Venegas AKA the character Cerpin Taxt. Julio jumped from an overpass into traffic in El Paso in ‘96 after awakening from a self-induced coma. He had injected himself with a mixture of morphine and rat poison.

The attempt lands him in a week-long coma during which he experiences visions of humanity and his own psyche. Upon waking, he is dissatisfied with the real world and jumps to his death.

This song in particular focuses on his fall, and is the only song in the entire album that’s based on the reality of Julio’s life.

He saw amazing things in his coma that he couldn’t ever see in real life. So he jumped.

Things to do today 12/09

12:36 PM. Still in bed. I got up at 9:40 this morning too. Get your shit together, Carina. Make a list. Remember the list. Do the list.

  • go to the laundromat
  • do something about my raging eyebrows
  • buy dog food
  • find a camera to use
  • make promo vid for april chase w/ brian and his cat (needs to be done ASAP!)
  • fold big ass pile of laundry
  • pack for LA!!!
  • hang out with adrian and marty
  • get more “stuff”
  • get to SF somehow (gotta figure that out too)
  • sneak in some time with the bf <3
  • watch Young Science!

We wish we took more pictures :( But this is what we got and we wanted to share it with all of you. We had a blast at the show - can’t wait til next year! We hope you enjoyed PMAC’s appearance on our second song, Ones & Twos. He’s extremely talented and came on-stage with barely any practice! Check out his stuff!

Aside from all the fun and amazing performances, we hope that the medical mission reaches out to all of our people in need in the Philippines. The lack of medicine and healthcare is a serious issue, and with the proceeds from this benefit, we can really help save lives. Thank you PAHC for putting up such a wonderful event.
